How To Save Different Versions (New Drafts) of a Published Protocol

Protocols can be saved in the protocol templates to keep track of each version. SciNote maintains the version history for each template and only the most recent published version of a protocol can be linked to a new Task.

To create a new version of a Protocol Template:

  1. Navigate to the Templates>Protocol on the left taskbar.
  2. Select the protocol you would like to edit by clicking on its name
  3. Click the Create new draft button.Create New Draft for Protocol Templates
  4. To save the new version, click Publish.
    1. To keep it as a draft, just navigate out of the protocol page.

Only those with 'Owner' or 'User' access for a Protocol Template can make edits or create new drafts, such as a changing the template name. Only 'Owner' users can publish Protocol Template drafts as a new version.
