      How does SciNote's Quartzy Integration work?

      SciNote has a built-in integration with Quartzy that allows you to access your Quartzy inventories directly from SciNote.

      Quartzy is an online lab management platform and scientific research supply marketplace. SciNote's integration with Quartzy allows you to view your Quartzy inventories in SciNote. 

      You will need active accounts on Quartzy and SciNote to use this integration.

      Before you can access your Quartzy inventories from SciNote, you will need to enable the integration from SciNote. 

      Only Organization Administrators in SciNote will have the access to enable the integration from SciNote.

      You can enable the Quartzy integration in SciNote using these steps:

      1. In SciNote, click on the Settings icon and select 'Add-ons'
      2. Under the 'Integrations' section at the bottom of the page, click 'Setup'
      3. This will open the setup wizard where you will need to input the Organization ID and Access Token from Quartzy. Please review the articles below on how to obtain these.

      4. Follow the steps in the setup wizard and input the required information
      5. Your Quartzy inventory is now connected to SciNote and accessible from SciNote

      Inventories linked to Quartzy will be identified by the prefix 'Quartzy' in your SciNote inventory list allowing you to easily identify which inventories are linked to Quartzy.

      Will edits made in Quartzy be reflected in SciNote? What about edits made in SciNote?

      • For the current phase of this integration, editing of items is only available from Quartzy
      • Any edits made to items in Quartzy will be reflected in SciNote. The current integration maps only these fields below from Quartzy to SciNote (one-way sync):
        • Name (Quartzy field: 'Item name')
          • *SciNote limits the Item Name field to 255 characters maximum. Please ensure your Quartzy item names are 255 characters or less to avoid receiving an integration "setup failed" error message and potential for certain items to not sync correctly
        • Amount in stock (Quartzy field: 'Amount')
        • Serial number (Quartzy field: 'Serial #')
        • Product number (Quartzy field: 'Catalog #')
        • Batch number (Quartzy field: 'Lot #')
        • Quartzy app link (link that opens Quartzy inventory item directly in Quartzy)
      • In SciNote the inventory linked to Quartzy will be Read-Only. You will be able to:
        • View the items in your Quartzy inventory
        • Access the items via a direct link to Quartzy and view additional data points stored there
        • Assign items to Tasks in SciNote
        • Use SciNote’s smart annotations to refer to Quartzy inventory items

      Note that SciNote's Stock Management add-on feature is not compatible with the Phase 1 Quartzy integration. Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager for recommendations on how to best integrate Quartzy.

      With future phases of the Quartzy integration, you will also be able to:

      • Deduct Quartzy inventory stock used in protocols directly in SciNote
      • Trigger reagent reordering from SciNote to complete the process in Quartzy
      • Sync reagent reordering processed in Quartzy in SciNote
