How to Make a Copy of an Experiment, Workflow, or Task

If you perform the same experimental work repeatedly, you can duplicate an Experiment as a template instead of creating it from scratch each time. You can also clone individual Tasks or Task Workflows if needed.

To create a copy of a SciNote Experiment:

  1. Navigate to the desired Experiment card within your SciNote Project
    1. You can also duplicate Experiments from the Table view of a Project (click the checkbox next to an Experiment and then 'Duplicate' from the bottom menu)
      1. Duplicate an Experiment from Table View
  2. Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the card.
  3. Click on Duplicate on the dropdown menu.experiment_duplicate
  4. A pop out will appear, select the Project you wish to copy the Experiment to.
    1. You can also choose to copy the Experiment to the same Project (i.e. current project) How to Make a Copy of an Experiment

When you copy an Experiment, only the Experiment Description, configured Tasks/Workflows and Task Protocol Steps are copied over. Task results, assigned users, and comments are not included.
