Can I create, upload and edit Microsoft Office documents in SciNote?


Microsoft Office Online integration with SciNote enables you to create, upload, and edit Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files within SciNote.

All your changes are automatically saved as you type. You can invite others to review and co-author articles in real-time, knowing that everyone is working with the latest version.

Microsoft Office Online supports the viewing of many major Microsoft Office file types, and editing of file types including .xlsx, .docx, and .pptx.

When previewing your MS Office files in SciNote, you can choose between different view sizes of files on task protocol steps and in results.


To create a new Microsoft Office document within SciNote navigate to the Protocol step in Task and then click on the New Step button. Once a new step is created, click Insert, Add file, then Create an MS Office file. You can also do so under the Results tab, by clicking on the Add new result button.

Select the Office file you would like to create and click Create Document.
