How to Delete, Edit, and Copy a Scheduled Event in SciNote
Once booking events have been created in Equipment Scheduling, you can view, update, and duplicate them directly from the scheduling calendar
Equipment Scheduling is available on Professional and Platinum plans. Teams on the other plans can try it with a free trial.
1. Deleting a Scheduled Event
You can delete scheduled events by:
- Navigating to the Main SciNote menu on the left side of the screen and open the Equipment Scheduling calendar.
- Use the Daily, Weekly, or Monthly view to locate the event.
- Click on an event to open its details panel, which displays the title, event type, assigned team members, and date/time range.
- Click the bin icon.
2. Editing a Scheduled Event
Only users with a User or Owner role on the original inventory can edit/copy booking events. Viewers cannot make changes to scheduled events.
To edit an existing booking event:
- Locate the event on the Equipment Scheduling calendar.
- Click the event to open its details panel.
- Click the Edit icon.
- Update the relevant fields — title, event type, assigned team members, or date/time range.
- Click Update event to apply your changes.
When an event is updated, all assigned team members will receive an in-app notification and an email. See Section 3 for details.
3. Copying a Scheduled Event
Copying an event is useful when you need to create a recurring or similar booking without re-entering all the details.
To copy an existing booking event:
- Locate the event on the Equipment Scheduling calendar.
- Click the event to open its details panel.
- Click Copy (or Duplicate).
- A new booking event will be created with the same details. Update the date/time range and any other fields as needed.
- Click Save to confirm the copied event.
4. Notifications and Reminders
SciNote automatically keeps assigned team members informed about booking events. When a booking event is created or updated, the people listed in the event receive:
- An in-app notification sent immediately.
- An email notification sent to all assigned team members.
Additionally, a reminder is sent 24 hours before the event starts, both in-app and via email, so no one misses an upcoming booking.
