[Protocols](https://knowledgebase.scinote.net/en/knowledge/using-scinote?hsLang=en#protocols) # How to Lock Results ## Locking lets you protect the results in a protocol template so that, once the protocol is used in tasks, the locked result content cannot be changed. This keeps validated result structures — plates, tables, observations, conclusions and attached files — exactly as intended. Result locking is part of the **Lock protocol content** feature, a GxP capability available on the new *Platinum plan.* It is set up in the **protocol template editor**, on each result content block.  #### **How to lock a result's content** 1. Open the **protocol template** you are building and go to its **Results** tab. 2. Create the result you want to protect and add the content block (text, table, files, etc.) 3. Click the 3 dots **...** and then **Manage result**. 4. Click the **padlock icon** next to a content block to lock it. Repeat for each block you want to protect. 6. Close the dialog.
