How to Lock Results

Locking lets you protect the results in a protocol template so that, once the protocol is used in tasks, the locked result content cannot be changed. This keeps validated result structures — plates, tables, observations, conclusions and attached files — exactly as intended.

Result locking is part of the Lock protocol content feature, a GxP capability available on the new Platinum plan.

It is set up in the protocol template editor, on each result content block.

How to lock a result's content

  1. Open the protocol template you are building and go to its Results tab.
  2. Create the result you want to protect and add the content block (text, table, files, etc.)
  3. Click the 3 dots ... and then Manage result.
  4. In the Manage result dialog, each content block in the result is listed — for example a plate or table.manage results
  5. Click the padlock icon next to a content block to lock it. Repeat for each block you want to protect.
  6. Close the dialog. Locked content is marked "Locked" with a padlock so it is clearly identifiable in the template.

A closed padlock means the block is locked; an open padlock means it is still editable.
