Locations are an inventory add-on that helps you easily visualize, track and manage the precise locations of where your inventory items are stored.
Each location can be broken down into sub-locations, ending with final structural level being a grid box or a freeform box (no grid) to assign inventory items to.
How to Create a New Location:
- Click on the inventories tab in the navigation panel, located on the left side of your screen.
- Click "Locations" in the drop down
- Click the blue "New locations" button
- Type the location name in the text box
- Click import or drag a drop a photo of the location (This is optional)
- *If you add an image, users can hover their cursor over the name of the Location to preview the uploaded Location
- Type a location description in the lower text box (This is optional)
- Click "Create" in the bottom right corner
To Create a Sub-Location:
- Click on the location name
- Click the blue "New locations" button
- '+ New location'
- Follow steps 4 to 7 from the previous instructions.
You can add as many sub-locations as needed. There's no limit to the number of Location levels you can set up in SciNote!
To Create a Box that you will Assign Items to:
- Click on the location name
- Click "New box" next to the "new locations" button
- Type the box name in the text box
- Select "Grid" for items to have an exact location assignment, select "no grid" to assign items to a general location
- If you select "grid" enter the size of the box in the boxes behind!! (e.g., 12 x 12)
- Follow steps 5 - 7 above
You can not create sub-locations within or under a box. A 'box' is considered the final layer of the location structure.
