[Using SciNote](https://knowledgebase.scinote.net/en/knowledge/using-scinote?hsLang=en) # How to Archive Steps and Results on a Task in SciNote ## SciNote now unifies how you archive and delete Protocol Steps and Results on Tasks. Rather than permanently removing content, you can archive entire Steps and Results — or individual content blocks within them — keeping your task page clean while preserving your data for traceability and potential restoration. **1. What Can Be Archived** You can archive the following on a Task page: - **Protocol Steps** - **Results Entries** - Individual **content blocks** within a Step or Result entry, including: - Text blocks - Tables - Files - Checklists - Forms **2. How to Archive a Step or Result** *2a. Archiving an entire Step* 1. Navigate to the Task page and locate the Protocol Step you want to archive. 2. Click the **action menu** (⋯) on the Step. 3. Select **Archive**. 4. The Step will be moved to the **Archive** tab on the Task page. *2b. Archiving an entire Result* 1. Navigate to the Result tab on the Task page and locate the Result entry you want to archive. 2. Click the **action menu** (⋯) on the Result. 3. Select **Archive**. 4. The Result will be moved to the **Archive** tab on the Task page. *2c. Archiving a content block within a Step or Result* 1. Hover over the specific content block (text, table, file, checklist, or form) inside the Step or Result. 2. Click the **action menu** (⋯) on the block. 3. Select **Archive**. 4. The block will be removed from the active view and moved to the **Archive** tab. Viewing Archived Content** All archived Steps, Results, and content blocks are accessible from the **Archive** tab on the Task page. This tab is the dedicated home for all archived content on that task, where it remains visible and searchable. **4. Restoring Archived Content** Archived content is not permanently removed and can be restored at any time: 1. Navigate to the **Archive** tab on the Task page. 2. Locate the Step, Result, or content block you want to restore. 3. Click the **round arrow icon ↩️** next to the item. 4. The content will be returned to the active Task page. **5. Deleting Content from the Archive** If deletion is permitted in your workspace, you can permanently delete archived content from the Archive tab: 1. Navigate to the **Archive** tab on the Task page. 2. Locate the archived item you wish to delete. 3. Click the **bin icon 🗑️** next to the item. ⚠️ **Please note:** Deletion from the Archive is permanent. However, SciNote operates with full built-in traceability — even when records are deleted, they remain accessible via immutable [**Audit Trails**](https://knowledgebase.scinote.net/en/knowledge/how-do-i-access-and-export-audit-trail?hsLang=en).   Workspace-Level Deletion Restrictions is available for **Platinum** plan users.
