Status automations help streamline your workflows by updating task statuses automatically based on user actions. They are enabled at the workspace level and can be managed by Team Owners.
Team Owners can enable/disable automations within each workspace.
Status automations determine how task statuses update in response to specific actions. For example, when at least one step in a task is marked as completed, the task status will automatically change to In progress.
Users can still manually update task statuses at any time, even if automations are active.
Status automations are grouped into three categories:
- Task Automations
- Experiment Automations
- Project Automations
How to access and manage Status Automations:
- From the desired workspace, navigate to the Settings icon on the top right.
- Select the Automations tab.
- Enable or disable available automations as needed from the list.
- Automations are activated per workspace, not site-wide. You can manage them independently in each workspace.
- Status transitions are one-way. Statuses do not automatically revert if the triggering conditions are undone. For example, unchecking a step marked as completed does not return the task status back to Not Started.
- Automations are not retroactive. They only apply to actions taken after activation. Existing objects will not be updated based on new automation rules.
